Named after the bottom of our feet; the idea that there is only one of ‘you’; and the projection of our souls when we dance. SOLE‘s purpose is to offer innovative movement/styles and guidance in honing your craft and discovering your authentic self as a dancer.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

JULIA WHALLEY

Fredericton, New Brunswick born and raised, Julia has had passion and drive for dance, choreographing and sharing the art all her life. She set out to Toronto for 5 years to train under a multitude of styles and choreographers including companies Sensual Heeling (Kaela Faloon) and BOSS (Leah Totten).

Since moving back to Fredericton she has opened SOLE Collective: a home for the dance and movement community, where she trains adult dancers of all levels in Heels and Commercial dance. In 2023 she formed two advanced level training and performance companies, soleBODY and soleACADEMY and has since presented two showcases of FROM THE SOLE, a show of a first of its kind in Fredericton.

Julia fuses together her training in hip hop, contemporary, jazz, heels and commercial dance and creates soulful, expressive pieces of work meant to grow versatile and passionate dancers. She believes dance can unveil our inner power and she strives to ensure Sole is a safe space where she can facilitate exactly that.

SOLE SCHEDULE

Sole Collective runs on a rotational cycle which consists of 4-week Drop-In Series and 6-Week Progressive Programs. This schedule is subject to change as seen fit.
